MANIFESTO
Don’t Be A Creep is a music and nightlife culture movement that demonstrates and spreads a zero-tolerance policy to abuse or harassment of any kind.
You can tell you’re being creeped on by that feeling in your gut. Someone’s making you feel uncomfortable, violated or powerless. That behaviour is creeping; Don’t Be A Creep.
Our message is a simple no fuss reminder to check yourself and others.
We don’t want to call people out, we want to call people in. Don’t Be A Creep actively engages everyone involved in music and nightlife culture with a bold, clear and unignorable message.
What is a creep?
Noun: A person who makes you feel uncomfortable to any degree through uninvited behaviour. Especially common in public spaces, most frequently populated in the evening Or more officially: a person who behaves obsequiously in the hope of advancement.
What should I do if I see someone being creeped on?
Step in, interrupt the conversation, encourage accountability. If they’re your mates making someone feel uncomfortable, unfortunately they’re your responsibility too.
What if I’m a creep?
Realisation leads to rehabilitation. Regrettably we’ve all been conditioned by the patriarchy, but awareness is the first step in changing your behaviour.
I’m not sure if my behaviour is creeping or not, what should I do?
#ASKTHEM
How can I help deter creeps at my bar/club/event?
Spread the awareness. Our posters will help remind people you have a zero-tolerance policy to violating behaviour in place. If the behaviour persists, kick them out. It’s important to show this behaviour is as unacceptable as starting fights in order to deter people. Otherwise it will keep happening.
